The $1.3 Billion Concourse D Widening project will increase the overall building footprint by widening the existing concourse from 60 feet up to 99 feet. It also extends the existing concourse to the north and south, increasing the overall length by approximately 288 feet. The modernized Concourse D will feature larger holding areas, restrooms, concessions, as well as more space to move around. Apron level support spaces will also be rebuilt and expanded. A combination of capacity and distribution improvements to mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and IT systems will be installed. A new 34-aircraft parking configuration will accommodate the most demanding ADG III aircraft, such as the Boeing 737 Max and Airbus A321 Neo. Ultimately, the 34 gates will have capacity to handle more passengers than the existing 40 gates do today.
