Closures will have little to no impact on ATL operations.
As part of the ongoing ATLNext construction projects, preparation for the installation of canopies across the North and South roadways will require nightly closures of additional lanes of traffic beginning tonight, April 12. A portion of the South outer roadway will be closed shortly after 10:00 p.m. and will reopen at 5 a.m. each morning. This closure is required to allow for modifications to the South Parking garage and for drilling to anchor the South canopy. A section of the Upper South outer roadway and Lower South lanes have already been closed.
Drivers using the South roadway will be diverted to inner lanes closest to Domestic Terminal South. Additional Atlanta police officers will be on duty to help ensure smooth traffic flow. Travelers should see little to no impact on ATL operations.
Vehicle access to the South Parking garage remains unchanged. Pedestrian access to the South Parking garage will be limited to one walkway directly across from door S3 during nightly closures; however, ample wayfinding signage will direct travelers to the proper walkway.
