Canopy Construction Gets Underway

ATL is undergoing a facelift as crews lay the groundwork for the construction of two giant canopies on the north and south entrances of the Domestic Terminal. Initial work begins Saturday, Oct. 15, with crews relocating utilities, building temporary elevators and constructing temporary pedestrian ramps. Once constructed, the two canopies will total the length of nearly three football fields, providing a dramatic entrance to the Domestic Terminal while protecting guests from the elements.

Also starting Oct. 15, the Airport will close two outer lanes in front of the north entrance. Additionally, the lower roadway bus lane and the sidewalk at the lower roadway will be partially closed.

All parking areas will be open during this time. For your convenience, we have online reservations available for several of our on-Airport parking lots. Visit www.myparkatl.com to learn more and reserve your space today.
